How We Use Cookies
Like many businesses we use cookies to help us understand our customer base, and understanding our customer base means we can tailor our business, content and products to suit.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a common web analytics service that is used by most businesses across the internet to see how their website is performing. It only uses cookies to enable analysis of how visitors use a website. It does not collect personally identifiable information and does not track your movements between different websites.
For further information, please see the Google Analytics security and privacy principles and Google Analytics terms of service.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking on all websites, by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or a blocker such as this one from GitHub: uBlock Origin.
Google Ads
We advertise our website across the internet and we use cookies to help record potentially interested parties. If you have visited our website then you may see on a small number of selected websites a www.goringhardware.com advert.
For further information, please see the Google Advertising policy.
To opt out of these cookies, visit the Google Ads Settings page or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page, or install a blocker such as uBlock Origin.
Disabling Cookies
You can manage and disable cookies within your browser preferences and settings, alternatively, the Interactive Advertising Bureau has produced a guide which explains to users how cookies work, can be managed and blocked by all browser types.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you send us an email the information you include may be retained for up to 12 months. Beyond that data will be retained for marketing purposes only on the permission of the customer. Data will only be used by Goring Hardware and will not be disclosed to third parties.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have sent us any personal data via email you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
